Apple Box Studios Takes the Enneagram Test
At Apple Box Studios, we’re always looking for ways to better understand ourselves and how we collaborate as a team. Recently, we took the Enneagram personality test, a system that identifies nine core personality types based on motivations, fears, and behaviors. The results? A fascinating snapshot of our office dynamics:

- 1 Helper
- 2 Achievers
- 1 Individualist
- 3 Investigators
- 1 Loyalist
- 2 Challengers
Breaking Down the Types
We started by diving into what each Enneagram type represents. The Helper is driven by a need to support and connect with others. The Achievers are goal-oriented, success-driven individuals who thrive on accomplishment. Our Individualist brings creativity, depth, and emotional insight. The Investigators are analytical, independent thinkers who value knowledge and expertise. Our Loyalist thrives on security and trust, while the Challengers are strong-willed, assertive leaders who take charge.
What Surprised Us (and What Didn’t)
As we shared our thoughts on our results, some of us were surprised by how accurate they were, while others were skeptical at first but later saw deeper connections. Our Type Fives weren’t shocked to be labeled as analytical and reserved, but they were intrigued by how much their need for independence impacts collaboration. The Achievers laughed at how spot-on their descriptions were—they’re always setting goals and pushing for results. Our Type Two felt validated in their natural inclination to support the team, while the Type Four reflected on how their creativity and emotional depth influence their work.
The Enneagram & Office Culture
One of the most valuable discussions we had was about how our personality types shape Apple Box Studios’ office culture. Our mix of Achievers and Investigators ensures a balance between drive and strategy. The Helpers and Loyalists bring emotional intelligence and trust, while our Individualists and Challengers push for creative and bold decision-making. Having a team with such diverse approaches means we benefit from multiple perspectives, but it also means we have to be mindful of how different types communicate and work together.
Teamwork & Project Collaboration
Understanding our Enneagram types gave us insight into how we function as a team. Achievers push projects forward, setting ambitious goals. Investigators ensure everything is well-researched and thought out before execution. The Challenger types bring confidence and leadership, while our Helper ensures team morale stays high. Our Loyalist reminds us to stay grounded and think long-term, while the Individualist adds a layer of creativity that makes our projects stand out.
By recognizing our different work styles and motivations, we’ve gained a better understanding of how to collaborate effectively. Whether it’s balancing structure with creativity, ambition with support, or logic with emotion, the Enneagram has helped us see our team in a new light.

Final Thoughts
Taking the Enneagram test as a team was not just an exercise in self-reflection—it was a tool for growth, collaboration, and deeper connection. As we continue to work together, we’ll keep these insights in mind to ensure our strengths complement one another and our differences make us stronger.
